I wait around all day for my human to come home,
When they are not here I am slumped on the floor.
Without them, there are no beautiful fields to roam,
Hours upon hours are spent looking at the door!
When will they come back?
It’s been 10 minutes, I miss them already!
They’re never coming back what am I going to do!?
Is that the sound of the door I hear?
Is that the smell of scooby snacks in the air?
I can feel it, they are getting near!
It’s time to wag my tail like I just don’t care!
Yes, finally, they are back,
I feel the urge to lick every inch of their face!
Now my day can, at last, get back on track,
Get my lead and let’s get out of this place!
There are birds and balls to chase,
There are lakes and streams to splash around in!
Hurry, hurry, there’s no time to waste,
To not go out and play would be a sin!
I love my human very much,
But sometimes, they hate to go on walkies!
They are never in much of a rush,
Those humans, they spent too much time having talkies!
