As someone who's British, and follows politics here closely, I can tell you there is very little chance of Britain 'declaring war on Russia any day now.' These articles are getting more and more out of hand. Russia invaded Ukraine, a sovereign country. We are right to arm them to fightback against an unjustified invasion. Putin won't stop at Ukraine, he's said so himself.

Yes, America has a history of interventions that didn't turn out well. But using that as justification to not get involved is ridiculous. As is the idea that Britain and the US have never fought for democracy. I studied history at uni, including a lot of WWII, and that is just factually incorrect. Roosevelt was desperate to get involved earlier, but Congress was against the war until Pearl Harbor happened. You also conveniently ignore lend lease which sustained the allied war effort until America officaly entered the fray.
