Creativity Is King, But Consistency Is The Queen
Creativity without consistency is nothing
If creativity is the king of the chessboard, then consistency is the Queen.
Without consistency, your efforts to be creative will fall flat.
Like the Queen on the chessboard, consistency allows you to move in different directions, build momentum and develop a winning strategy.
Creativity is the King because it’s where all your ideas flow from.
Without creativity, you’re staring at an empty board with no means to move forwards.
Yet, creativity alone will only take you so far. If your creativity comes in fits and bursts it won’t hold up over the long term.
The King can only move one space at a time and creativity has its limits too.
Combined with consistency, creativity becomes a powerful force. You have the means to harness your creative juices and profit from them.
Consistency encourages more consistency. Like a rolling stone, the more consistent you are, the more momentum you gather, turning your ideas into an unstoppable force.
Even if it’s dreaming up one idea a day, sticking to your workout regime, or even writing an atomic essay every day, the act of being consistent will propel you forward until you come to dominate the board.
Creativity is the most important piece in your armoury, but consistency is the most powerful.
