Feels important to point out that Germany most definitely isn't a socialist country. It's a capitalist society, but one which is social democratic in nature rather than socialist.

I actually think this is the number one issue Americans fail to grasp when it comes to socialism. There is a big difference between a social democracy and socialism. If this was articulated better in America, I do wonder whether it would help the political climate.
