Great article Shannon. I enjoyed reading this and how you relayed your experience of watching the film and your thoughts on the furore that broke out. I saw the cancelnetflix hashtag trending this last week and wondered what all the fuss was about. As I haven't seen the film, I won't comment on it, but I do think it's funny that people who haven't watched it are so vehemently against it. I think people need to watch the film before they offer their hot takes on the issue. Criticising something you haven't seen is disingenuous and smacks of self-righteousness.
