I think you've missed the point around why people care. Simone is a high profile athlete, and like Naomi Osaka her actions have repercussions beyond their own personal lives.

That's why people care in my opinion. Because their actions change perceptions in society about the importance of mental health. Twenty years ago, there was barely a debate about mental health, now it's taken much more seriously and it's thanks to people like Simone and Naomi that this is the case.

We don't live in a vacuum. Saying 'I don't care' misses the point. If we want to change attitudes around mental health in society, we should care about what those with a huge platform do.
