A cool wind whips through the air,
I raise my nose to the sky to breathe in more.
My feet crunch on the leaves below as traverse the trail,
All around me the wildlife sing their daily songs.
I make my way through the trail, nature by my side,
Trees, taller, older and wiser than me, are my companion.
This is an area unblemished by humankind,
Some may call it paradise, others hell.
The slow path begins to get steeper, my mind continues to stir,
The solitude of nature allows me to think clearer.
I have no destination, only a route,
I am with nature and nature is with me,
The way nature intended.
